Overview
Cardless is developed by Toby Jones. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Cardless on your Apple devices. In short: Cardless has no servers and no accounts, and Toby Jones does not collect your data. The app talks directly from your device to your payment provider. Cardless is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GoCardless Ltd.
Your API key
To show your real payments you can enter a live API access token from your GoCardless dashboard. The token is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device and is sent only to GoCardless (api.gocardless.com) to make the requests you ask for. We never see it, and you can remove it at any time in Settings.
Your payment data
Payments, customers, subscriptions and mandates are fetched from GoCardless directly to your device and are shown in the app. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. A small summary (revenue and counts) is shared with the Cardless widgets through an App Group on your device. Links and QR codes you save are stored on your device only. If you do not add a key, the app shows sample data.
Advertising
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads. Where you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, Google may use your advertising identifier to show more relevant ads; if you choose Ask App Not to Track, ads are not personalised using that identifier. See Google's advertising policies. Premium subscribers see no ads.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We don't receive or store your payment details. See Apple's Standard EULA for the terms that apply to subscriptions.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's Privacy settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash and performance reports. These do not identify you personally.
Children's privacy
Cardless is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If anything about how Cardless handles data changes, we will update this page and, where required, the App Store privacy label before that change ships.
