Record & Review

Record yourself playing a score, then watch it back with the notes lit: green where you should have been, red where you actually were. It listens through the microphone, so it works with any instrument or your voice.

Recording

Choose Record (the round record button in the toolbar, or More ▸ Record Myself, or ⌘R on a Mac). After the count-in the score plays and you play along. Press Stop, or pause, when you have finished.

While you record the built-in instrument and the metronome are muted, so the microphone hears only you. If the score has a backing track the app asks first, because the microphone would hear it: choose Mute It and Record (it comes back afterwards), or Record Anyway if you use headphones. The recording bar has a Mute It button too. The first time, the app asks to use the microphone.

Recordings are kept with the score, so they are copied when you duplicate it. Each one is compressed to well under a megabyte a minute.
