Privacy Policy

Overview

Snooker Scoring is developed by Toby Jones. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Snooker Scoring on iPhone. In short: your match data is stored locally on your device and never sent to us. The app is free and supported by ads, which are provided by Google AdMob and may collect some device information as described below.

Information we don't collect

Snooker Scoring does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal details to use the app. We don't collect your match data, names or contact details, and we don't operate our own analytics or tracking systems. We don't sell your information.

Advertising

Snooker Scoring is free to use and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and use information from your device, such as your IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, approximate location and, if you give permission, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). This information is collected directly by Google and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not receive this data and do not have access to your match data through it.

Where required, the app asks for your consent before ads are personalised or you are tracked across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking, and limit ad personalisation in Settings under Apple Advertising.

You can remove ads entirely with the optional subscription. Subscribers do not see ads.

Subscription

The optional ad-removal subscription is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details, and you can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings.

Match data

Your match records, player names, scores, frames, breaks and tournament data are stored entirely on your device. This data stays local and is not sent to us or to any external server. You own your data completely.

iCloud sync

If you have iCloud Drive enabled in your iPhone settings, Snooker Scoring can sync your match data across your devices via Apple's iCloud service. This sync is handled entirely by Apple and governed by their privacy policy, not ours. You can disable iCloud sync for Snooker Scoring at any time in Settings.

Diagnostics

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's Privacy settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash and performance reports to help us fix bugs. These reports don't identify you personally. You can turn this sharing off at any time in Settings.

PDF exports

When you export a match or tournament as a PDF, that file is generated on your device and saved locally. We never receive, store or process these files. Sharing a PDF is entirely your choice.

Children's privacy

Snooker Scoring does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app requires no account, login or personal data to use, so there is nothing for us to collect or hold.

Third-party services

The external services involved are Google AdMob (advertising, as described above) and Apple's services (iCloud for optional sync, App Store subscriptions, and diagnostic reports if enabled).

Changes to this policy

If how Snooker Scoring handles data changes - for example, if we introduce optional cloud features or new functionality in a future update - we'll update this page before that change ships.
