Wrong price or forecourt details
Report a discrepancy on GOV.UK
Prices come from the government, so only the forecourt or the Fuel Finder team can correct them. We can't change a price from our end.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the prices come from?
From the UK Government's Fuel Finder service, a statutory feed that forecourts must update within 30 minutes of a price change. Fuel Prices shows each price exactly as published, with the time it was last updated.
Why is a price wrong or out of date?
Fuel Prices can only show what the forecourt has reported. Prices over 24 hours old are highlighted, and stations with no update in over 36 hours carry a warning. To report a mistake, tap Report a discrepancy at the foot of any list, in Settings or on a station page. It opens the government's form.
How do I choose petrol, diesel or both?
In Settings, use the Show prices for control at the top. You can also change it in setup. Grades covered are unleaded (E10), super unleaded (E5), diesel (B7), premium diesel, B10 and HVO.
How do I change where it looks?
Allow location and Fuel Prices uses where you are. Otherwise, type a town or postcode under Settings › Area. You can set a search radius from 1 to 25 miles.
Does it work without location?
Yes. Type a town or postcode in setup or Settings and Fuel Prices searches around that place.
How do price alerts work?
Open the Alerts tab, tap + (or tap Alert on a station), choose a fuel, whether it should drop to or rise to a target, and the target price. Fuel Prices checks each time prices refresh, including in the background, and sends a notification when a price crosses your target. iOS decides how often background refreshes run, usually every few hours, so alerts aren't instant.
I'm not getting alert notifications
Check that notifications are on for Fuel Prices in the Settings app, and that Background App Refresh is on. Alerts can't fire if the app has been force-quit and iOS isn't allowing it to refresh.
Can I use Siri or Shortcuts?
Yes. Try "Cheapest fuel near me", "Petrol prices nearby" or "Check diesel prices". To use your own words, open Shortcuts, add Cheapest Fuel Nearby to a new shortcut and name it whatever you want to say.
What does the Trends tab show?
A daily average of the prices Fuel Prices has seen, recorded on your iPhone. Fuel Finder publishes current prices only, so the graph starts when you first open the app and grows each day. It isn't backed up or shared.
Why does Fuel Prices show ads?
Ads keep Fuel Prices free. They sit apart from the listings and never cover or imitate a price. To switch them all off, subscribe to Remove Ads in Settings.
How do I stop ads being personalised?
Choose Ask App Not to Track when Fuel Prices asks, or turn it off later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. In the UK and EU you can also change your consent under Privacy choices in Fuel Prices' Settings. Ads still show, just not tailored to you.
What is Buy Me A Coffee?
An optional one-off tip in Settings. It's a donation to say thanks: it doesn't unlock anything or remove ads. After you tip, the app doesn't mention it again for a month.
How do I restore or cancel Remove Ads?
To restore it on a new or reset iPhone, open Settings in Fuel Prices and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. To cancel, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Ads come back when the current period ends.
